Center for Regenerative
Sports & Spine Care
Our Mission
At the Center for Regenerative Sports & Spine Care, our mission is to deliver excellence in orthopedic care grounded in evidence-based medicine through the emerging field of orthobiologics. This subspecialty fills the gap for patients seeking therapeutic options between conservative treatment and surgery.
Our Approach
At our center, we use regenerative medicine techniques, including prolotherapy and orthobiologics, delivered with X-ray and/or ultrasound guidance for precise placement at the site of musculoskeletal injury or degeneration. Orthobiologics refers to tissues harvested from a patient’s own body, such as platelets from blood (platelet-rich plasma, or PRP), bone marrow, or adipose tissue. These tissues are then minimally processed and injected to support the healing of painful musculoskeletal conditions. The goal is to stimulate the body’s innate healing mechanisms to reduce pain, restore function, and decrease inflammation.
At the Center for Regenerative Sports & Spine Care, we believe accurate diagnosis begins with listening carefully to patients. Every evaluation includes an in-depth history, a thorough physical examination using the “SANS” approach developed by Centeno-Schultz, and advanced imaging when needed. SANS, which stands for stability, articulation, neuromuscular control, and symmetry, allows for a more holistic view of the source of musculoskeletal dysfunction. For example, when evaluating a shoulder injury, it is important to also examine the cervical spine to rule it in or out as a contributing factor.
From this foundation, Dr. Jerome works in partnership with her patients to develop a treatment plan. Depending on the diagnosis, this may include a combination of therapeutic exercise and, for appropriate candidates, image-guided orthobiologic injections, as well as referral to other medical specialties if needed. She also performs needle tenotomy, nerve or fascial plane hydrodissection, and shockwave treatment, where appropriate. Because healing depends on more than any single intervention, Dr. Jerome also counsels patients on nutrition and exercise optimization to support outcomes.
